The Energy and Sustainability Conference, co-organised by the Technical University of Crete and the University of Genoa and Chania Municipality – Centre of Mediterranean Architecture invites researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to submit papers addressing the critical intersection of design and financing in promoting energy efficiency in buildings within the European Union. As the urgency for sustainable practices intensifies, this conference aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in the built environment.

Background info
With the European Union's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, the built environment plays a pivotal role in reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The design of energy-efficient buildings not only mitigates environmental impact but also enhances the quality of life for occupants. However, the successful implementation of these measures is often based on effective financing strategies and public economic incentives.

This conference seeks to explore innovative solutions and share best practices that address these complex challenges, driving progress toward a sustainable future.
