The 2nd edition of the SHERLOCK Energy and Sustainability Conference, co-organised by LNEG, will take place in Lisbon on 9–10 July at the University of Nova Lisboa, in collaboration with the 2nd edition of the''International Conference on Zero Carbon Built Environment (ZCBE 2026).''

This year’s conference, titled “Supporting the Energy Transition for the Building Stock,” will focus on innovative pathways to accelerate building renovation, energy efficiency, and climate resilience across Europe’s built environment.

We invite researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and representatives of civil society to join us in Lisbon and submit papers. The call for paper is open!

Soon, we will update concerning the key topics.

Background info
Europe’s building stock is responsible for nearly 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO₂ emissions, making it a critical sector in the EU’s path toward climate neutrality. Achieving a sustainable, low-carbon future requires coordinated action — combining technological innovation, financial mechanisms, and inclusive policies that drive large-scale renovation and energy efficiency.

The theme “Supporting the Energy Transition for the Building Stock” reflects this urgency, focusing on how research, industry, and governance can work together to accelerate the transformation of Europe’s buildings into energy-efficient, resilient, and climate-neutral spaces.
