Prof. Carla Isabel Montagud Montalvá
Carla Montagud currently works at the Institute for Energy Engineering (IUIIE), Universitat Politècnica de València. Carla does research in Industrial Engineering. Her research activity, as a member of the thermal area of the IUIIE, focuses on the Design, Modeling, Energy Analysis and Techno-Economic Optimisation of complex energy systems for the production of heating, cooling and domestic hot water. She is the deputy director of sustainable development of the school of industrial engineering (ETSII) at UPV and director of the Chair of Urban Energy Transition (CATENERG) at the UPV.
Pablo Baigorria Kobylinski
Pablo Baigorria Kobylinski is a consultant in the Strategic Consulting Department of Creara. He has experience in leading market studies and financial analysis, with a particular focus on strategic decision-making in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors. He has participated in several public and private projects related to the energy renovation of buildings, analysing the market barriers and designing innovative financing schemes to overcome them.
Katarína Nikodemová
Ms Katarína Nikodemová, Director of the Buildings for the Future, specialises on public policies and advocacy activities and has expertise in the field of public policies both at national and European level. After graduating from Political science and European studies, she worked for the European Commission and European Parliament in Brussels, National Council of the Slovak Republic and several renowned NGOs. She has knowledge and professional policy experience in areas of energy efficiency, sustainability and climate change.
Prof. Carmelina Cosmi
Carmelina Cosmi (M.Sc. in Physics, Ph.D.) is head of the Energy and Climate (E&C) Unit at CNR-IMAA. Her skills and expertise concern energy systems analysis and modeling, rational use of resources, energy-environment policy evaluation, sustainable development and smart governance. She has been a thematic expert, scientific coordinator, and policy advisor in several international research projects funded by the EU Framework Programs (FP6, FP7, H2020), the LIFE program, the ERDF (including Interreg MED,SEE, and ADRION), and various national projects. She has participated in the Urban Europe Research Alliance since its founding. She is also an author of several articles published in international journals and a reviewer for many ISI journals.
Dr. Amy Fahy
Dr Amy Fahy is an Assistant Professor of Management at the School of Business, Maynooth University. Prior to this, Amy worked in education outreach for 10 years. Amy’s research addresses issues around education for sustainable development, and engaged research stakeholder engagement practices.
Associate Prof. Mattia De Rosa
Mattia De Rosa is an Associate Professor of Thermal Systems and Industrial Energy Engineering at the University of Genoa, Italy, within the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering. With a multidisciplinary academic background, he has previously held teaching positions at the University of Sassari, Italy, and senior research roles at leading institutions in Ireland and UK. His expertise is focused on sustainable energy technologies and policy, with a research portfolio encompassing numerous peer-reviewed publications, high-impact national and international research projects, and the creation of innovative educational programs.Passionate about both research and teaching, his vision emphasises driving technological innovation, advancing the quality of education, and empowering individuals and communities to lead the transition toward a sustainable future.
Prof. Dušan Petráš
Professor Dušan Petráš from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava is a former vice-rector and dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. He specialises in HVAC systems and energy conservation in buildings, with a focus on creating healthy indoor environments.He has authored/co-authored 15 books, 50 scientific papers, and delivered over 100 lectures in 25 countries. Professor Petráš is president of the Slovak Society of Environmental Technology, a past president of REHVA, and a member of ASHRAE. He has also been a guest professor and lecturer in Denmark and Austria.
Prof. Ing. Štefan Stanko
Stefan Stanko is the Head of the Department of Health and Environmental Engineering at the Slovak University of Technology. He has served as Vice-Rector for Education and Foreign Affairs and is Vice-Chair of the STU Academic Senate.His research focuses on water management, urban hydrology, and sanitary engineering. He has authored multiple publications, supervised Doctoral students, and led national and international research projects, including APVV, VEGA, and Erasmus+. Stefan Stanko is also the Chair of the Slovak National Committee of the International Water Association (IWA) and has lectured widely across Europe and Central Asia.
