SHERLOCK’s 2nd Workshop — Insights from Seville

SHERLOCK’s 2nd Workshop — Insights from Seville

On 23 October, the second edition of the SHERLOCK Workshop took place in beautiful Andalusia, hosted by the University of Seville – Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

This hybrid event brought together eight speakers from the fields of social sciences, energy, housing, finance, and education to explore how innovation and collaboration can drive the energy transition.

The workshop opened with welcoming remarks from David Patino Rodríguez, Deputy Dean of Quality, Communication and Institutional Relations, Juan Guerrero, Head of the Research and Innovation Department at INCOMA, and Professor Mattia De Rosa, SHERLOCK Project Coordinator.

The first two presentations focused on the Andalusian context.

Professor Daniel Coq Huelva discussed the sustainability of agricultural and energy production, with a special focus on energy generation from olive biomass in the region, while, Francisco Campuzano Izquierdo from the Junta de Andalucía shared insights on managing and upgrading the region’s public housing stock, addressing current challenges and opportunities in innovation and rehabilitation.
